Placement opportunties with BBBSPY may include participating in one or more of our Mentoring Programs. These programs take place at local schools and out in the community. Students are responsible for getting themselves to and from these programs. For that reason, a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on placement days is required of all Placement Students.

My school has not shared my placement schedule with me yet

While our normal office hours are between 9-5pm, many of our Mentoring Programs take place afterschool and in the evenings. Additionally, many of the families we serve and the volunteers who facilitate our programs, require meetings outside of typical working hours. Therefore, giving our Students the most comprehensive learning experience often requires evening availability.

Please note: Placement Students typically work an average of 7-8 hours per day, regardless of when in the day that occurs. Students involved in evening programs are encouraged to begin their day later to accommodate a 7-8 hour work day and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
