safeTALK Workshop Registration

safeTALK Workshop Registration

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel York will be hosting two LivingWorks safeTALK workshops for BBBSPY Mentors this fall, facilitated by Youth Development Specialist, Sophie Mercer.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

safeTALK is an interactive and engaging suicide alertness workshop that will give participants the confidence and practical skills to recognize when someone might be having thoughts of suicide and connect them to safety. This is a certification course, and participants will receive a certificate of completion following the workshop. Workshops will be held on the following dates:

– Thursday, October 1st from 10:30am – 2:30pm @ BBBSPY’s Head Office (71 West Drive #23, Brampton)

– Wednesday, October 7th from 10:30am – 2:30pm @ Oak Ridges Library (34 Regatta Ave, Richmond Hill)

Mentors are welcome to register for whichever date/location works best for them, regardless of where they live. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and a short break will be taken partway through the workshop.

Note: If you are unable to attend either of these workshops, please know that we will be hosting more in 2027 that do not fall during the work/school day! If you are interested in attending in future and have feedback on days/times, we’d love to hear from you.

This training typically has a registration fee of $75, but BBBSPY is offering it for free to current Mentors. The training requires a minimum of 10 participants to run, so no-shows or last-minute cancellations may affect our ability to host fellow Mentors for this training. I understand that by signing up for this training, I am confirming that I am available for the duration of it and will be in attendance day of.(Required)
