After the first year of the PRISM Advisory Panel, we have successfully collaborated on the development of a 7-week PRISM Program to run in local elementary schools, we’ve attended multiple community events such as MOYO’s IDAHOBIT Fundraiser Dinner & Show, York Region Pride and Peel Region Pride, we’ve analyzed and highlighted gaps in services based on the community needs survey and we have successfully held 11 panel meetings.
PRISM Advisory Panel Objective: To inform the development, sustainability, and success of the BBBSPY PRISM Program. Occasionally to inform wider agency decisions.
Membership Requirements:
- Be a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community OR be a guardian/ parent to a 2SLGBTQIA+ young person OR be a strong ally AND reside in York Region, Peel Region, or Bradford West Gwillimbury.
- Commit to 1 year of membership
- Attend monthly virtual evening meetings
- Attend 2 in person meetings a year
- Attend and support BBBSPY events and community led events as a PRISM Advisory Member
